year one
Yesterday marked one year since my aunt passed away from cancer. I can’t even begin to describe how incredibly hard these last twelve months have been. It wasn’t until this past year that I realized how much I take things for granted. I’m not even talking about the big things like spending time together on the holidays, I’m talking about the tiniest, most simple things...

today i am thankful for my imac
I’m on the homestretch of this last project for my Graphic Design 1 class! I’ve got just a little bit more editing to do before I can put the building signage on then I just have to put my giveaway/info piece together and it’s off to the print shop I go! Thank goodness I have this 24” screen that allows me to zoom in so ridiculously close. It makes cloning so much easier. ...

30 day challenge: day 12
Harry Potter? I think the whole thing is so dumb. I tried to get into the fad and I just couldn’t stay interested. However, give me some hot vampires and a rainy town and I am good to go. :)

30 day challenge: day 11
I honestly don’t have “three favorite bands.” I listen to a huge variety of music because I tend to get bored with the same genre if I listen to it for a long time. How bout I just make a list of several of my favs? Breaking Benjamin, Three Doors Down, Sister Hazel, Buckcherry, Old Crow Medicine Show, Shinedown, The Eagles, The Beatles, Chevelle, Chris Tomlin, Big Daddy Weave,...

160 days till graduation!
Being sick definitely puts a damper on things! I woke up Thanksgiving morning with a sore throat and I’ve just gotten worse since then. I’ve been doped up on cold medicine for the past two days so hopefully it will pass soon. I’ve got too much to do to be sick! But anyway, Thanksgiving dinner was SO good! I took a couple of pics to remember the first bird ever cooked at my...

I have one dog, Fefe, who is 13 years old. She was my Meme’s dog and came to live with us when Meme passed away a few years ago. I did have another dog, Powderpuff, but we had to have her put to sleep a couple of weeks ago. :(

so much to be thankful for!
Just a few of the the things I am thankful for… A God who consistently guides me in the right direction and answers my prayers when my faith runs thin. Parents who stand behind me one hundred percent, no questions asked. Friends who are so close I might as well consider them family A family that is just awesome. Plain and simple, they are awesome. The chance to be able to go to school...

thanksgiving eve
It’s officially Thanksgiving eve! I’m so excited to be able to spend some time with my family tomorrow. All of our work and school schedules don’t really permit a lot of time for hanging out, so it’s really nice when we get the chance. This will be the first Thanksgiving without my aunt, which puts a damper on things but I am determined to have a good day. I miss her like...

man, i love college
It’s Monday, November 22nd at 10 in the morning and I am sitting in my Mass Comm class. This is what I see in this windowless room: A guy who obviously isn’t capable of participating in No Shave November but is trying really hard. A guy wearing a t-shirt that says “white tiger” along with a pair of weight-lifting gloves. A hat with cat ears sticking out the top of it. ...

30 day challenge: day 8
I can thankfully say that I am not a couch potato. I renewed my membership at The Rush a few months ago and have been taking pretty nasty advantage of it (minus the break for the small stress fracture). I must admit that some days I am so tired I would rather die than go work out, but I’m slowly but surely starting to see the results. And I likey.

I came across Tumblr through some design websites I was looking through. This is really a great place to get inspiration if you happen to be lacking. It’s easy to get bogged down sometimes, especially if you are working on several projects at once. Plus, I really like the user friendly interface. I’ve used Blogger and it really just wasn’t my speed.

tender-hearted much?
The older I get, the more I realize there are going to be certain situations that must be dealt with and it’s left up to you to decide whether it’s going to make or break you. People are going to use you, try to walk all over you, feed you lines that for some stupid reason you are going to believe, give you lies in place of the truth, and may even temporarily change your way of...

30 day challenge: day 6
There’s definitely a tie between fall and winter when it comes to me picking a favorite season. I love how the colors of everything changes in the fall and the crisp, cold air that comes with winter. If I had it my way, summer would last a week out of the entire year and that’s when I go to the beach. Otherwise, I’d rather it be cold or at least cool enough that you don’t...

30 day challenge: day 5
My favorite three colors are pink, turquoise, and silver. (and if I wanted to get technical, I can go ahead and say that I loooooove black and white.) I try hard not to be too girly when it comes to the whole pink thing, but it just doesn’t happen. I have a pink cover for my Macbook, a pink external hard drive, pink flash drives, pens, pencils, purses, earrings, high heels, pink North Face...

sleep is for the weak
I’m tired. I have a million and one things to do. Everything is slowly coming together. I absolutely love it.

Hmmm…my closest friends. Well, I think the best way to answer this is to talk about the three that I have known the longest. I’ll start with the ones I have known since second grade…Melissa and Emily. We were all in the same class and for some reason, we all three hit it off and become good buddies. We used to go home together after school play house and baby dolls until one or...

My all-time favorite television show is the Golden Girls. I never ever get tired of watching those fabulous ladies. I have the first two seasons on DVD and just the other day at Walmart I saw the rest of the seasons for $17 a piece. yesssssssss!! I’ll be getting those super soon. I also really like the show Lie To Me. Oh, how I would love to have Cal Lightman’s abilities. Talk about...

30 day challenge: day 2
As of right now, I just have my cartilage pierced on both ears, lobes, and a tat on my ankle. At one point I had four holes in each ear and my nose was pierced. Sometimes I miss my nose being pierced, but it’s really close to time for me to be looking for a “big girl job” after graduation and I just don’t think it’s the most professional thing to have. (I’ll...

My middle name is Rebekah (spelled with a K and not two C’s). My parents chose to use the biblical spelling of it, which is neat because most people spell it Rebecca. When I was a kid we used to live on Rebecca Drive and I was absolutely convinced that the road was named after me. I went through a short phase when I wanted to be called Rebekah, but I had been called Amber for so long it just...

Oh, I wish.
I want: A house that looks like this… with a bathtub that looks like this… I want to drive this… to an office that looks like this… while wearing these… and carrying this… I guess this means I should probably go work on finishing this project.

six months
I’ve found here lately that I have turned into a major “habit person” and I really like it.  Every Sunday, I sit down with my favorite coffee cup (my $5 Old Navy one that looks like a throw-away but really isn’t) in my grandfather’s recliner that fits perfectly in the corner of my bedroom, wrapped up in my pink snuggie and make a to-do list for the upcoming week. ...

sigh of relief
It’s official. I don’t think I have ever been so tired. I could sleep for three days straight. Thank you, Morris. On another note, Graphic Design 1 Project 2 is finally OVER!!! We had to design an identity for a company of our choice (this includes a stationery package, logo, and an consumer ad). My company was one that specializes in assisting older people reach their education and...
